Stock updates

Unfortunately, we are currently having trouble with our latest batch of Coral Pink Zinc. The natural ingredients we use can be a bit tricky to work with and we want to make sure our product is as consistent as it can be. We are working closely with the manufacturer and will have all of you looking pretty in pink soon! We are fully stocked with all our other colours and our natural sunscreen Sundaze.

An update from your two favourite pasties

Sauce is gearing up for a big Super Rugby season with the mighty Northland & Auckland Blues. Reports are that it’s been a tough pre-season and the Blues boys have been tucking into plenty of tins of Zinc. I’m midway through my first season in Japan which has been an awesome experience exploring the streets of Tokyo, indulging in big bowls of ramen and mountains of fresh sushi. Even though my team hasn’t been doing too well, the team environment is awesome. The Ricoh Black Rams can’t wait to get amongst some Zinc or Swim and Sundaze once we are in the warmer months. It was tough coming from a New Zealand winter straight into a Japanese winter, but my wife and I are hoping to get away for a summer holiday to make up for all that sun we’ve missed.

Back to New Zealand…

A New Zealand summer is most Kiwi’s happy place. It’s often when we make some of our core memories - our first roadie with a group of close mates; catching our first wave; or even having a first kiss; and for a couple of us, it might be when we come up with an idea to start a business selling Zinc sunscreen. We know having a summer like this one was frustrating. But we think it’s a good reminder for all of us to make the most of sunny days, to get out and experience nature when we can. Perhaps try something you haven’t tried before! As kiwis, we have so much to do just outside our front door. In saying that, here’s hoping next summer turns out to be one of many long sunny days, with endless waves and good vibes - we think we’ve all deserved it!

The buy-in from you all has been mind-blowing and we love seeing what you get up to while wearing our products. What’s next?

With our first year in the books we’ve learned so much and as we said in our last newsletter, we are so grateful for the support from you all. It started as just having a crack at something we thought would be a good idea and it’s turned into a full-on business with our product stocked in over 70 stores nationwide. So what’s next for us, you may ask?

This year we want to continue developing our relationship with our amazing stockists, we want to expand into the Australian market but we want to make sure we’re fully prepared and have a good understanding of what it takes to export and build relationships across the ditch. All things going well, we want to get to a position where we can hire an employee to help with the day-to-day running of the business so that it’s not a biggie if Tom and I happen to be away at the same time.
